Kleighrayne Piasecki has dedicated more than 14 years to animal welfare. .

Throughout her career, Kleighrayne has fostered more than 500 animals, provided compassionate care and helped them transition into loving homes. She specializes in caring for medically complex animals, including those recovering from distemper virus, but her passion extends to animals of all types, sizes, and needs. Her extensive hands-on experience, medical knowledge, and unwavering dedication make her a trusted advocate for vulnerable animals and the people who care for them. She is devoted to continuing to help animals through her rescue and sanctuary.

Dr. Jillian LaCroix is committed to improving and saving lives through exceptional veterinary care and compassion. A recent graduate of the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine, she brings both knowledge and enthusiasm to her work with animals in need.

 Dr. LaCroix is not only an outstanding veterinarian but also a true friend to everyone she meets. 

Dr. LaCroix strives every day to provide high-quality medical care while treating each animal with dignity, respect, and empathy. Her passion for animal welfare, dedication to shelter medicine, and unwavering commitment to both animals and the people who care for them have made her an invaluable supporter of this organization. Through her expertise, kindness, and advocacy, Dr. LaCroix continues to make a meaningful impact on countless lives.

Dr. Helena Wayt has been passionate about animal welfare her entire life. After discovering her love for shelter medicine while volunteering with Austin Pets Alive! during college, she earned her veterinary degree from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine, where she served as president of the Shelter Medicine Club.

Dr. Wayt began her career at Pima Animal Care Center (PACC), where she gained extensive experience in shelter medicine, high-volume spay and neuter, and advanced lifesaving surgeries, including orthopedic procedures. She is especially passionate about fostering medically complex animals and helping them recover, thrive, and find loving forever homes.

Dr. Wayt first met Kleighrayne while working together at PACC and is excited to continue supporting rescue animals alongside her. She now lives in Colorado with her two rescue dogs, Louie and Nevada, and enjoys rock climbing, backpacking, and exploring the mountains. 

 Elizabeth Carranza brings a background in animal behavior and welfare to the board. Her educational career involved veterinary medicine, industry, and animal behavior. Later her work became based in canine behavior research and found importance in advancing evidence-based, compassionate care for animals. Though her career has pivoted from animal behavior research, she is committed to supporting the organization's mission through advocacy, education, and informed decision-making
